A Whimsical Birthday Shoot – Bron’s 18th Birthday Photo Shoot with very special Friends – Johannesburg Photographer
It was Bronwen’s 18th birthday recently, and she decided that she wanted to do a photo shoot to celebrate her birthday, so she asked a few of her closest friends to join her. We did a vintage inspired picnic shoot at Delta Park in Johannesburg, complete with gorgeous cupcakes, candyfloss, and other yummy goodies.
The girls had loads of fun, and we got some really stunning pics, Bronwen is such a lovely young lady, easy going, and such a natural beauty.

This the gorgeous Lady S’s vintage inspired boudoir shoot. It was a first year anniversary for hubby, which is a most divine gift in my opinion. Needless to say, hubby LOVED his gift, and Lady S loved her shoot, she said it was a very empowering and wonderful experience, one she will never forget.

When Lauren contacted me to arrange her maternity shoot, she had quite a specific style in mind, she wanted soft light, sun flare, and a vintage feel. We didn’t have much light to work with at the end of the day, but we managed to chase that light and make it happen.
I must say, this has to be one of my most favourite maternity shoots that I have done so far, for so many reasons. Firstly, I have wonderful clients that enable me to play and experiment, and Kermit and Lauren are no exception, they were so chilled and an absolute joy to work with. I really loved Lauren’s choice of outfits, including all the hair accessories, that flower headpiece, well that just gave it that 70’s, bohemian feel, which I am so in love with, so naturally, I was in my element.
I wish Lauren and Kermit all the best for the arrival of their precious little girl, may she be your golden light and bring you joy, always.

Prashini contacted me a while ago to do a family shoot. I had photographed two of her very good friends, Nevash & Geshree, kids birthdays parties, and after seeing the photos, Prashini decided she wanted to do a family photo session with me.
It took a while to pull it all together, with all the postponements due to many factors, but after 3 months, we manged to get it together.
I really loved spending time with The Pena family, it was such a chilled session, naturally captured and full of love.
To the Pena family, Enjoy your time in Dubai over December, and travel safe.
Kiaran’s first birthday party was a train themed party and was held at Post House Parties in Chartwell. Mom, Geshree went all out and decorated the venue beautifully, Kiarn’s train cake was really awesome, and was a rainbow sponge cake, oh so colourful.
It was such a wonderful day shared with very special family and close friends, and filled with so much love and adoration. What a truly lucky boy, Kiaran is to have such wonderful people (friends and family) in his life, that I’m sure will be there every step of the way, to guide him and support him as he grows up, they say it takes a village to bring up a child, well Kiaran has his wonderfuyl people.

Fallen Hero’s hosted a wonderful, ladies only, event to celebrate Women’s Day, a national holiday in South Africa. Here’s a little history about Women’s day; On 9 August 1956, more than 50,000 women staged a march on the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act (commonly known as the pass laws) of 1950. They left bundles of petitions containing more than 100 000 signatures at prime minister J.G. Strijdom’s office doors. Outside they stood silently for 30 minutes, many with their children on their backs. The women sang a protest song that was composed in honour of the occasion: Wathint’Abafazi Wathint’imbokodo!(Now you have touched the women, you have struck a rock.). In the 54 years since, the phrase (or its latest incarnation: “you strike a woman, you strike a rock“) has come to represent women’s courage and strength in South Africa.
The Women’s Day Pin-Up Bazaar was a really awesome event and was held at Fallen Heroes Tattoo studio in Parkhurst. The attendance was amazing, and all the ladies went out of their way to dress up proper Pin-Up style, they all looked gorgeous. Heart & Soul Photography, which will be launching Bella Dea Boudoir & Pin-Up photography brand very soon, was there with a themed photo booth set-up, complete with a funky rockabilly, African styled backdrop and loads of props. The ladies really had a ball playing dress up and practicing their best Pin-Up poses, which were picture perfect. It was a really fantastic event and well done to The Fallen Hero’s team for putting it all together, until next year, keep rocking ladies.

My Wonderful clients… made this a really fun, playful and fantastic session, I loved this maternity shoot so much, Mpho was really glowing, and it shows.
Mpho and Jeffrey, what more can I say, they actually, kinda directed their maternity session by themselves, with very little help from me, love when that happens. Just beautiful.
I’m so looking forward to meeting their little girl, watch this space, to see the little gorgeousness.

I had a lovey session with these two lovely ladies, Lerato and her daughter Bophelo are very close and it really does warm the heart, to see such a connection, I really enjoyed their mom and daughter photo shoot, what a joy.
I did their shoot at The Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens on a lovely, warm, crisp spring day. The gardens are looking so lovely, but then again they are always kept in such pristine condition.
