This photo shoot was a very special mother’s day gift to Lisa from Haig and the kids. We met at Pecan Manor Conference & Function Venue nestled in the middle of a Pecan Nut Forest in the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountains.
The kids had a ball, especially Hanna, she loved the whole experience, and was so willing to pose for the camera. Lisa’s dad also joined in for a few shots, which made for some very special moments. All in all this a really wonderful family photo session. Thanks Basmadjian family, I loved the time spent with you all.
Lisa sent me a lovely message after receiving her photos from her family photo session.
I had the pleasure of photographing Thapelo and Tabitha’s engagement party on the 18th May 2013, what a wonderful celebration it was, shared with family and close friends. I set up a little photo booth in the corner for all their friends and family to have some fun pics taken with a few props that brought along with me, needless to say the booth was a hit and and all the guests had a blast.
Going through all the pics whilst editing made me smile, Thapelo and Tabitha are so blessed to have such a wonderful and colourful bunch of friends and family, and of course each other, but that goes without saying. You just can see everyone had a a wonderful evening, celebrating their engagement with them.
To Thapelo and Tabitha, I wish you a beautiful life together, filled with love, joy and laughter.

I must say I just love Pin-Up sessions and I especially love it when my client is super, super excited to do her shoot, we planned her shoot for weeks from choosing the venue to getting ideas for Pin-Up style hair and make-up, to wardrobe, it was rather epic but so much fun, I rather enjoy the planning of a photo shoot, it’s loads of fun, sometimes frustrating but mostly it’s fun. I must say I was rather nervous as the time approached to do Danielle’s shoot, I just wanted it to be perfect and I had so many ideas in my head ads far a posing was concerned, I think I flooded my mind a bit.
This Pin-Up session was initially, a wedding gift for her hubby to be, but I think it ended up being more a gift for Danielle, she loved every second of her session, from the minute she stepped into the room and started getting her hair and make-up done to the actual Photo shoot. When we were done a few hours later, Danielle said that she would be spreading the word and convincing every woman that she knows to book a boudoir/ Pin Up session, as this was for her one of the most empowering experiences she has ever had. At one stage during our shoot, she blurted out ” Damn I’m one sexy woman and I’m feeling it right now” and we both giggled,
This is why I love what I do, and why I love Boudoir and Pin-Up photography, it’s more than just pretty photos it’s a wonderfully empowering experience.

Every woman has this desire to look glamorous and sexy, all while maintaining her class and sophistication, and lets face it – it’s an awesome confidence booster.
When you immortalize that radiant seduction in photos – you have a constant reminder of the powerhouse beauty that you are and what better setting than the one place in your house where you aren’t just the mom or just the wife?
Boudoir: is a lady’s private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. Emphasis on the lady.
Commonly boudoir or pin up shoots have been categorized as risqué or tastelessly erotic – bordering on pornography perhaps – but this is not the case at all. It is timeless and captures the intimate beauty of a woman, man or couple in a setting they themselves are comfortable with.
Growing in popularity, the idea of contemporary boudoir photography is to take variations of candid and posed photographs of a glamorous looking and confident feeling person partly clothed or in lingerie.
Nudity is more often implied than explicit – leaving much to the imagination of your significant other and maintaining the grace; and as mentioned sophistication of being a lady.
Commercially the boudoir or pin up shoot is marketed for brides to surprise their future husbands by gifting the images on or before their wedding day. A taste of things to come if you will.
Other motivations or inspiration for boudoir photography shoots include anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine’s Day, weight loss regimes, maternity, or just to celebrate the beautiful woman in you.
Sweet Judy Garland and her Ruby Red slippers were immortalized in the form of a pin up shoot in the 1940’s and still she is a beloved silver screen icon. Twiggy had her very own pin up shoot, waif frame and all. Cindy Crawford, Raquel Welch, Brigitte Bardot, the list is endless – all woman who have had their sensual beauty captured and all of whom have had their moment in the sun.
What is your excuse for not having your moment in the light?

Lady T contacted me in February wanting to a boudoir shoot as a surprise gift for her boyfriend’s birthday present, I love that, what a fabulous gift to give your man and indeed yourself. The shoot was kept very hush, hush from Lady T’s boyfriend, as it was a surprise after all. We discussed various themes and finally decided to go with a vintage style boudoir photo shoot. I do so love me some vintage, so i was over the moon.
We found the perfect venue, an old Victorian style house in Parktown complete with antiques and a most fabulous energy. The gracious owners were very accommodating which made the shoot even more enjoyable because of the very chilled environment and the complete privacy they afforded us. Lady T is gorgeous and such a beautiful person, she was nervous in the beginning, as was to be expected, but we quickly put her at ease and kept the vibe very light-hearted and fun. She was however very open to all our ideas and trusted us completely which really made a huge difference, and oh my word, did she have the most gorgeous lingerie and so much of it to choose from, so much of loveliness.
We had an absolute ball. I am so ecstatic with pics from a stunning vintage boudoir shoot with a gorgeous lady. What is even more important is that Lady T absolutely loves her pics. I loved every minute of Lady T’s shoot from concept to shooting, to post production. I really love, love, love what I do.
Here are the pics from Lady T’s vintage boudoir shoot, I’m sure that you will love them as much as I do.
Thanks to my photography partner, Sigrun Wagner for being amazing every step of the way, your contribution is, as always invaluable, and highly appreciated. Thanks to Iliana Kirilova for doing Lady T’s lovely make-up.
This is the second time I have had the pleasure of doing a family photo session for The Henson Family, Melissa, Mark, Shay and Tayla, and this time Granny Jeni joined in. The kids have grown so much, but I guess that’s what they do every year. Tayla is just too beautiful and Shay is such a sweet little man that adores his sister, actually they adore each other, you can see they have a strong bond, its super special to see, I hope they never lose sight of how special that bond truly is.
What a fabulous day, we did the photo session at Delta Park in Johannesburg, one of my favourite venues, to use for family shoots, or any shoot actually, because of the many different spaces that one can use from veld, to forest, to open fields, to a Graffiti wall, and I’m so pleased that the cosmos was still in bloom, the kids had a blast with the all the pretty flowers and oh so perfect for little girls, we got some stunning pics of Taylor amongst the cosmos. Granny Jeni joined in for a few photos especially the shots with the kids, there is also such a precious bond between Gran and the kids, so Jen had to just be there.
Taylor and Shay were so well behaved, I was so impressed, which made my job a breeze and the session a joy. thanks to the Henson family for yet another stunning family photo session. Until next time. I hope you enjoy the photo’s from your session.

I had the privilege of doing Nat and Bren’s maternity shoot last year, March, at Delta Park, and then shortly thereafter little Benjamin arrived, and Nat and Bren contacted me to do his newborn shoot at their home. I was so excited to meet the little man, because you see, you build a connection with the little preciousness, and mom and dad whilst taking these rather intimate photos during pregnancy, a very special time.
I so loved the time I spent with Nat and Bren during their Maternity shoot and then, loved it even more when I got to take pics of little man Ben, such a pleasure.
This gorgeous family has crept into my heart, and so obviously I was hoping that they would contact me when Ben’s 1st birthday came around, and lo and behold, they did. I was so pleased, and so excited, I just knew it would be a wonderful celebration. And it was just that.
Thanks Nat and Bren for welcoming me into your home with such warmth. I got to celebrate Ben’s 1st birthday with all of you, not just as your photographer but as your friend, it was very special. As your photographer though, I got to capture these very precious moments, of a very precious boy, celebrating his very first birthday.
Beautiful Ben, you are a treasure, and I wish you love, happiness, respect, strong guidance and laughter, always, and with parents like yours that’s a given!
Love you guys.
What a beautiful maternity photo shoot with Lulwando and Siyabonga, it almost felt angelic, the surroundings were gorgeous and the light was heavenly. I enjoyed this shoot so very much for all it’s beauty and loveliness. Lulwando wore a beautiful pink flowing dress at the start of her photo shoot, and it just set the mood for the rest of the shoot.
I got to play with gorgeous light and the cosmos was in full bloom, it was real eye candy, esp when you throw in a beautiful mom-to-be and her handsome hubby. Lulwando and Siyabonga are a lovely couple and I wish them the very best in their journey together as parents.
What a wonderful birthday party, I loved every second of Saen-Ari’s first birthday party. Capturing this very special day was an absolute joy, and I was so very pleased to be a part of the celebrations.
Nevash did an outstanding job with all the circus themed decorations, I just love DIY decor, it makes any party extra special. The theme was ‘Circus’, which I think is perfect for a first birthday party, it’s so colorful and fun, and as you can imagine for me, it was absolute eye candy. I had a ball photographing all the details.
The entertainment was brilliant, from the lovely, colourful lady clown that did beautiful face painting on all the kids and made balloon animals, to the ringmaster and of course the ever so popular jumping castle. Nevash even set up a mini photo booth with awesome props, which was a hit.
I will say it again, what a beautiful day. I love what I do, because i get to share and capture beautiful moments like these, specialness.

I had so much fun with this engagement shoot, Reony and Daryl are such an awesome couple, they were such fun to work with, and what should’ve been a 90 minute shoot turned into a 2 and a half hour shoot, time just flew by, and I was enjoying every second.
We started in Braamfontein and then moved onto Nelson Mandela Bridge for a few shots, we included their little girl, Riley in a few, as Reony asked that she be included in this very special Engagement photo shoot. We then finished off in Newtown as Reony requested, and I just love Newtown with it’s awesome street art anyway, that we do something with the awesome Graffiti that has become such a big part of the Jozi landscape.
Reo had only one special request, that we do a ‘walking into the sunset’ shot of the family, and Im happy to say we got ‘the shot’.
I wish you both, love, laughter and happiness, always.
