Vintage Boudoir Photo Shoot | Johannesburg Boudoir Photographer

I haven’t posted in a while, although I have been rather busy with boudoir shoots, the thing is I’ve needed to wait for my clients to give me permission to post some of the photos from their boudoir shoots. Here are a few images from a vintage boudoir shoot I did a little while ago with Jana,  a stunning client, that really emulated the vintage pinup style of yesteryear,   we had so much fun with her shoot.  This vintage boudoir photo shoot was done in a lovely boudoir studio situated in Joburg, its perfectly suited for a stunning boudoir photo session. Posted with permission from my client. Remember ladies, I will never post boudoir images without your permission, I respect my clients privacy.

Dhiya’s Bohemian Photo Shoot – Johannesburg Portrait Photographer

Lovely Dhiya – we had such a good time, this was such an amazing shoot for many reasons, but for Dhiya it was a new beginning, having come out of a long term relationship, with her confidence at an all time low. Dhiya needed something to help lift her spirits, to remind her how beautiful she is, and so she did a photo shoot just for herself, and she loved it, and I loved it, and we made pretty pictures.

Lady P gave me a call on a previous vintage studio photo shoot i did, wanting to do something different for her husband for Valentine’s Day this year, and what a fabulously romantic idea, to print a vintage calendar for your hubby to look at the rest of the year! We had a lot of fun in studio, and hubby was apprarently delighted with the resulting photo calendar. Who wouldn’t be?

A Whimsical Birthday Shoot – Bron’s 18th Birthday Photo Shoot with very special Friends – Johannesburg Photographer

Bron's 18th Birthday Vintage inspired Photo ShootIt was Bronwen’s 18th birthday recently, and she decided that she wanted to do a photo shoot to celebrate her birthday, so she asked a few of her closest friends to join her. We did a vintage inspired picnic shoot at Delta Park in Johannesburg, complete with gorgeous cupcakes, candyfloss, and other yummy goodies.

The girls had loads of fun, and we got some really stunning pics, Bronwen is such a lovely young lady, easy going, and such a natural beauty.

Misty Sunday Morning – Potrait Session with Cashe

Johannesburg Portrait photographer

A blog post written from my clients view:

The ultimate lazy Sunday is one where it is overcast with a light drizzle thrown in for good measure. I thought that my Sunday was going to be one filled with the crinkling of chip packets and enough DVD’s to mush a mind, fortunately for me (and my waist line); Bronwyn had other ideas.

Accompanying the hazy weather was a hauntingly dreamy mist that can only be described as inviting for any photographer, it doesn’t happen often where Mother Nature provides your effects for you, especially in the last dregs of a Hiveld winter.

I was given the brief to do my makeup and bring all of my hair accessories and a few outfit changes and get myself to the hills of Constantia Kloof where the mist was at its thickest for an impromptu photoshoot. I was thrilled, I always have the most fun when I shoot with Bronwyn and the end result is always breath-taking.

After a few accessory changes and a couple of test shots in the drizzle, we had the perfect hair for a dreamy, mist filled shoot; but the drizzle turned into a legitimate shower and we had to wait around for a little while. Keeping tabs on the weather and on the time, we had to make sure that there would still be enough light to capture what Bron was trying to get.  Thankfully she was able to.

When the rain let up a little, we set to work trying to capture the mystery of the Misty afternoon as well as myself trying to get a dreamy facial expression.  I think that because I was waiting around for a bit, I became so comfortable that my face wouldn’t do what my brain (and Bron) was asking it to. Thankfully though, it did eventually start playing along and we managed to get a few incredible shots!

As usual, Bron was extremely patient with me and my uncooperative face and helped me feel what she was wanting to capture; even though we were shooting in the rain for the most part.  Although Bron periodically ran inside to dry off her camera, she was back and determined to get the perfect shot within seconds.

I am always concerned that I am not able to give the photographer what they are looking for, but Bron has this amazing way of taking what you give her and turning it into art.  The photos that she managed to get are amazing, she managed to use the mist and soft light to create dreamy images that were laced with mystery and a bit of wonder.  What Bronwyn is able to do with a sleepy model, some mist and a light drizzle is incredible.  Even though the entire shoot was brief, the photos blew my mind and I although I knew that Bron would be able to create magic with her camera, how she continues to exceed expectations, every time is something worth paying attention to!
